Pinch Test

How’s a humpback whale score on the pinch test?

.

Many arctic ocean creatures are rather fat fellows! A humpback whale has at least 6 inches of blubber covering its entire body. Larger whales, like bowhead whales, chug along with over a foot of blubber. That gives some whales a whopping one foot pinch test, wow!

.

Why all the fatness?

.

Because of the salinity of the ocean water, plus the extreme cold in polar regions, water temperatures can plummet to 28ºF. At these chilling temperatures, most men would be taken down in less than a minute. But humpback whales and their chunky arctic friends sport around like they’re relaxing in a cozy bathtub!

.

God knew exactly how to design creatures to thrive in bone-chilling temperatures. He equipped whales and other arctic swimmers with precisely what they need to carry out His intended purposes.

.

Just as He equips and provides for animals, God provides and sustains those who follow Him. If you let Him lead you, He’ll reveal wonderful purposes He pre-planned for your life.

.

Trust God as He prepares and sends you out to tackle the mountains He has in store for you.

.

“Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate…” (2 Corinthians 3:5).
