For all Ages

The idea of modifying the same lesson for children that are younger versus older is genius and something I am totally on board for. There is nothing more stressful for a homeschool parent than having to manage different curriculum altogether.

If you have multiple ages in your homeschool, CrossWired Science is a great option for you! Kids can go deeper in as they’re able, yet even your youngest kids can be learning the same topics with older siblings.

The program is self-paced and geared for students from ages 4-18 with elements that will appeal to and challenge every age. This makes it so families can all be on the “same science page”.  Despite the wide age range, science terminology used in the program is NOT watered down. Concepts are simply taught with plenty of interesting analogies, comparisons, connections, etc.  This keeps everyone engaged!

CrossWired Science is in the process of growing and creating, so we got to see the progression of the program…which is really exciting.  The core lessons are intended for ages 4-18, but CrossWired strongly encourages families to learn science together.

One thing I REALLY loved is that my son at nearly 14 can work along side my daughter who is just over 6, learning the same global topics. While she can’t do the same level of work as him, she can do the color pages, and loves the readings.

This program is good for all ages, and I mean ALL ages. I could easily see a parent sitting with their 4-5 year old, learning right beside them. This is great for families with multiple children who are on different educational grade levels.

The program was just right for my 11-year-old while not boring for my 15-year-old. It also has the worksheets and tests to further encourage material retention. This was a favorite for my eight-year-old.

it is designed so that our entire family can learn and study science together!  It is a multi-leveled curriculum so students K – high school can use it.  Love that.

I like that they are geared to work with a wide age range!

From a time-saving basis, I like that my elementary and high school students can watch the video together and then work on the other areas at their level. We can plan a family field trip to the same location, yet they will glean different things from the experience. It truly is a time saver for me!

This program is good for all ages. It has two tiers: first timers and second timers. The first timers section provides science for younger children, and the second timers section is for older children that have a base for the science they are covering. For me, it means that my four-year old and my twelve-year old can both use it.

There are a lot of fun experiments to try and videos to watch. My daughter could easily spend a few months on each topic if she wanted. Most programs that claim to cover a wide range of grades often fall short for older students, but this one doesn’t. There are so many options to make learning fun for every level.

One reason I like CrossWired Science is that its geared for multiple ages. There are no grade levels in the curriculum. Teachers or parents can look over the material to decide what’s appropriate for their students.

I absolutely love the concept of CrossWired Science. It had everything I was looking for in a science curriculum. It’s flexible, gives honor to God as Creator, and can be used with all of my kids at the same time.

I don’t know about you, but science is always a “problem” in our homeschooling curriculum. We just can’t ever really find something that works for us that the kids like that stands the test of time. Well, that is, we couldn’t find anything. But now we have! Until Enter: Sound, and Fluid Dynamics from CrossWired Science to save our science and homeschooling day!

I used this program with NINE different children ages 4-13. But in truth anyone from 4-adult could use it. This program has SO much in it. In our case, our little 4-6 year olds just watched the videos. My first-grader, Abigail, watched the videos and was able to answer the questions with my help.

All nine children in our home can watch the video together. Then from there we would do the following:

  • G (5): Just watch the videos
  • H (5): Just watch the videos
  • E (6): Just watch the videos
  • A (7): Watch the videos & then do the quiz with parent-help and some follow-up activities with parent-help
  • K(10): Watch the videos & do the quiz with no parental help. Do follow-up activities with no parental help.
  • I (10): Watch the videos & do the quiz with no parental help. Do follow-up activities with no parental help.
  • S (10): Watch the videos & do the quiz with no parental help. Do follow-up activities with no parental help.
  • A(12): Watch the videos & do the quiz with no parental help. Do follow-up activities with no parental help. Brach out into more difficult activities and research.
  • G(13): Watch the videos & do the quiz with no parental help. Do follow-up activities with no parental help. Branch out into more difficult activities.

The videos are done in such a way that they are interesting for all ages, and the concepts are explained in such a way that it is advanced for an older child, and the younger child just benefits from what he/she can understand.

I had my 2nd, 5th, and 7th grader working on this. They enjoyed all of it, even at their different levels. Obviously the older the child the more they’ll be able to do without a parent’s help. My boys are mostly able to complete it on their own with help from me for the activities and experiments. I am all for a curriculum with less for me to do!

This is an incredibly flexible resource as it can be used by very young children as well as high school students, depending on which features you choose.

I love that the kids can do the same work, yet answer questions or do research related to the different levels that they are on.

She LOVES learning through videos so this curriculum is a big hit with her.  I have other science videos loaded on her Kindle for her and she has learned SO MUCH through them.  The videos on CrossWired Science are engaging and seem to keep her interest just fine.

Lucas has spent hours exploring the site and doing activities.

The videos captured his attention and also entertained his 3-year-old brother who often watched alongside him.
