When cats of all kinds drink, they do something very strange. They curl the tip of their tongue backward on itself like we do, but in the opposite direction–under the tongue. This bends a little section of the top of their tongue which is smooth.

Cats shoot the smooth top of their bent tongue to the water they want for a drink, but they don’t puncture the surface. When they pull their tongue back, the molecular forces of the water hold onto the smooth part of their tongue and lift a column of water out of the bowl.

The water breaks loose from the tongue as the tongue rapidly moves upward toward the cat’s open mouth. The sailing water follows the tongue like a Pied-Piper and plops into the cat’s mouth. Once there, kitty neatly closes its mouth, swallows the water and is after more in a third of a second. And all done as neatly as a princess would drink!

When scientists ran a computer analysis on drinking for kittens, adult cats, bobcats, cheetahs, tigers and lions, they found to their astonishment that all the different cats have different,  precise lapping speeds. They discovered that each speed is DNA-determined to have exactly the right acceleration for the whole system to work according to the size of each cat’s tongue. Cat DNA has mathematical algorithms for tongue-lapping speeds! Wow!

God is mindful of all details. He created these varying cat tongue speeds that have never before entered our minds. God does this. He adds unexpected pieces, which astonish us. The complete answers of our prayers often require one or more of these– critical, unthought of supernatural gifts.

God gave Joseph two supernatural dreams as a young man. Joseph gave a supernatural interpretation of the cupbearer’s dream, then God moved with a second supernatural dream given to Pharaoh and its interpretation. God followed this with a supernatural idea for a plan. He again acted with a supernatural stirring of Pharaoh’s heart to lift Joseph to the place where he could fulfill God’s intents for him which eventually affected billions of people–including you and me. Without this series of unexpected miracles, Joseph’s situation would not have changed.

God has astonishing, unexpected pieces to the puzzles of our lives. As you follow Him, He is putting things into place. As everything comes together according to His design, unthought of things will happen that fulfill Isaiah 57:18,19, “… I will lead him and restore comfort to him…creating the praise of the lips”, and Isaiah 25:1, “Thou hast worked WONDERS, plans formed long ago in perfect faithfulness.”

Be encouraged…Your God will rise up!

“Therefore wait for Me, for the day when I rise up…”  Zephaniah 3:8.
